Kathy R. Tatum, Director
South Central Region
My Dear Sorors of the South Central Region:
It is simply an honor to greet you as the 20th South Central Regional Director. Sorors, I thank you for all of the calls, emails, text messages and social media posts in support of my appointment. South Central has a rich history of unconquerable leaders and I look forward to building upon our tradition.
Please join me in thanking Soror Ernestine Wilson for her impeccable service as the 19th South Central Regional Director. Soror Wilson, thank you for your leadership, the transition thus far, and all that you taught me as I served as a member of “Team South Central”.
Boule 2018 was a wonderful experience! We elected a new Grand and we also elected three wonderful South Central Region Sorors. Congratulations to Sorors TyCoria Johnson, UG to the National Nominating Committee, Deja Boler, National Undergraduate Member to the Executive Committee, and Neffie Gatewood, National Trustee. I look forward to serving our sisterhood with you.
Let’s position ourselves with a positive outlook on change as we become active participants in the vision of our 25th International President, Valerie Hollingsworth-Baker. By way of the amazing ZNN newsletters, Madam Grand sought appointments for many positions, including State Director. The State Director applications were due on August 17. I look forward to the Grand’s announcement of those that she has chosen to serve as the State Directors in the South Central Region. Many of our regional appointments are now listed among the national appointments. I encourage you to read the Grand’s strategic plan and timeline, which I’ve attached to my email. If you have the skills but possibly lack the particular degree that’s listed, apply anyway.
Are you ready to serve? The issuance of job listings and the regional application for all positions is targeted for the end of the month. Thank you for your patience as the appointment process takes place. Certain appointments have been made as necessary due to the national alignment. These appointments include the SCR Chief of Staff and I am proud to announce that Brenda Butler has been appointed to that role. Soror Butler’s email address is SCRchiefofstaff@gmail.com and as Chief of Staff, her duties include planning and directing all administrative and operational activities for the South Central Regional Director. Please join me in thanking and congratulating Soror Butler.
As part of the “Members’ Administration”, I am and will remain open to your input and ideas as we join together to promote the initiatives of our 25th International Grand Basileus. I solicit your prayers and support as we travel on the road to Zeta’s Centennial.
